Wow I finally unlocked a ton of knowledge about displaying, styling, manipulating, and embedding maps today thanks to @bart!

I am going to use @maplibre GL JS everywhere from now on.

It’s so simple and fun that in a handful of minutes I managed to add a minimap to pages related to a specific place in my website 👀 (see this commit and this page as reference).

@osm_tech We're trying to move away from Google Maps for putting pins in a map. I have built a frontend with Leaflet but how to we build the backend so that we won't hammer your servers?

I tried this guide: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Cate/Creating_your_own_server_on_Gnu/Linux but trying to get all those dependencies installed is not trivial to put it mildly. Is there an easier way to do this?

I have found the maps we need at https://download.geofabrik.de but we need a server program

✅ Catégories étendues : Ajout des POIs 'craft' et 'tourism'
✅ Nouvel onglet 'Notes OSM' : Intégration des notes et tags FIXME en lien avec les commerces.
✅ Backend complètement refait, on vise 2000 villes suivies à très court terme et 10 000 à moyen terme.

Anyone want to #OSM map bike parking in #Boston?

Each of these dots is bike parking in OSM and I just don't believe that Boston is really THAT sparse south of the Pike

What are the best* Apple apps for mapping bike parking in #OSM (I don't use Apple, but want to know what to suggest)

*best: easiest to get someone that have never edited OSM, nor cares about mapping generally, to quickly add items and details without being overwhelming

Discovered Turbo Overpass has a route diagram generator. Might help quality control of the bus stops I'm looking at. Except it generates 2 labels per stop, it seems. Trying to discern if the data are really bad or what. #OSM

Went back to Henderson to finalize the updates. I think i updated all i could with out starting to assume details. Also some mappers suggested straightening out the roads, so i did that across the entire town.

As a side note, bing was working on JOSM for a minute and then stopped again.

Hey @organicmaps why don't the app utilize localized data from #OSM instead maintaining a separate #localization? This leads to efforts duplication.
